business is steady and we’re picking up work from all kinds of industries and markets, due to our good relationships with forwarder clients across the country. “The Middle East, particularly

Afghanistan, is still seeing strong demand and we are seeing more activity in Africa,” he remarked.

What is more, Steiner continued: “I think the economic downturn

has pretty much bottomed out. Many consider that it could take all the way through 2012 before we see a major economic upturn, but naturally we stay positive and hope that it happens earlier.” Either way, “ With our set-up, strategies and business plan, we are

well prepared to adapt to any of the scenarios. “We will soon have nationwide sales coverage and an expert team of brokers in our headquarters here in Florida, as well as a very

strong broker staff if and when demand requires. “Next year, we will be looking to strengthen our passenger

charter presence in the US market and to develop some very creative new charter-related products we have been building in our minds for a while,” Steiner concluded.

CONSISTENT DEMAND Australia-based charter broker Adagold Aviation has seen “consistent demand for charter work going into Queensland from Papua New Guinea”, explains its business development manager, Greg Jarrett. Transport of drilling and mining equipment remains the strongest source of demand, with both Australia and Papua New Guinea (PNG) seeing a boom in this area at the moment. Using AN-12, Hercules, Convair 580 and some smaller aircraft,

“Adagold’s PNG experience and contacts helps us to obtain the required permits at short notice, which can otherwise be problematic for ad hoc operations,” he added. Jarrett went on: “Demand has been high within Australia as well,

particularly during the Queensland floods at the beginning of this year, when Adagold dispatched several aircraft out of New South Wales carrying perishables, water and stores. Looking ahead, the broker has plans to hire additional staff. And it

is working to acquire capacity in the 5 to 6-tonne payload aircraft bracket. “These types of aircraft are in high demand for the mining industry, for movements of equipment and machinery”, Jarrett explained.
