Reports of the demise of the photographic trans- parency are premature. Unless you can afford multi thousands of pounds of state-of-the-art digital projection equipment there is still nothing quite like a well-projected colour slide for dramatic impact, wide dynamic range and size, and if stored carefully, it will last for decades. So if the old projector’s kaput, you can still get a new one from us, and rediscover the delights of your (or your Dad’s) collection. Despite the groans, the kids might even be impressed too. The Braun Novamat E130 is a good basic model (available as the E150 with infra-red remote control), and the M330 is the same spec, but with fold-out daylight viewing screen. For quick casual or detailed inspec- tion, a Medalight viewer or flat panel does the job.
