For most people, the key qualities of a monopod are rigidity and a compact closed length, so that it can be fitted easily on or into a bag. So, from our range of around 25–30 monopods, the ones shown here are either 4-section or Gitzo’s amaz- ing 6-section carbon fibre ones – all very solid too.
