The One Design J/105 fleet would
have only four boats competing with a close three-way battle between Erik Kristen’s Jubilee, Lorenzo Migliorini’s Allegro Vivace and Jerry Diercks’ Delirium. Lorenzo would win day one only a couple points ahead of Delerium who had a rough day with a couple of the bigger boats getting in the way during their finishes. In fleet 4 the battle for second place was between Dave Martin’s Soverel 33 Grafix and Tom Kerr’s J/33 Corvo. Corvo would take the day, but Grafix would win the regatta sailing well in Sunday’s light breeze. In fleet 5 the race for second would be fought between Pat Nelson & Bob Mayfield’s J/29 Slick and the very capable Olson 911 Blue Martini. Flash and Brad Butler’s Dos would tie for first overall on day one, each having straight bullets.

The south course would experience a
nice thermal breeze throughout day one and would provide a total of eight races for the weekend. The One Design Melges 24 fleet would be host to an international group from across the region. Offering some of the closest and most competitive racing over the weekend, the Melges 24 fleet made its resurgence felt and left many very excited for the 2012 season in the Pacific Northwest. The One-Design Moore 24 fleet, with six boats, would find the weekend both exhausting and rewarding. After a total of eight races Kathryn Meyer aboard More Cowbell! would hold first place, followed closely by Ben Braden’s More Uff Da in second and Doug Archbald’s Morjito in third. PHRF fleet 2 would be won by Steve Trunkey’s Hotfoot 27 Egress. Second
