restore proper functioning. The good news got even better on our return.
I contacted the local Lewmar distributor, Payne’s Marine, and explained that there seemed to be a design issue with the stripper as Lewmar had made it stronger since ours came out. Even though the 5-year warranty had expired, Alan Greig came through with the replacement parts at no charge.
Having taken my windlass apart and rebuilt it, I can vouch for Lewmar’s quality of construction. The support of my chandler and the local rep certainly makes me a fan of their products. Bravo Zulu to Waypoint Marine and Payne’s Marine!
Yours truly, Don Thain Victoria, B.C.

Regards Lee Carlson Looking for Angelica
I am seeking information regarding the fate of the wooden sloop Angelica. My memory of her vital statistics is getting dim, however: She was built in the early 1900s, was about 53’ in length, and carried an extraordinary amount of canvas. Angelica won the Swiftsure in 1948 and had been well known in the early part of the 20th century for her racing prowess. Angelica had been donated to the Everett Sea Scouts, Ship #1 - probably in the 1950s- by a fellow named John Locke. I had the privilege of learning to sail on her in the mid 1960s. I lost track of her in the 1970s, but understand that the Sea Scouts sold her. Any information would be appreciated.
