toward accepting a certain style of submission, and you will likely have a higher success rate submitting to those magazines whose current features have a style similar to your own. You will also want to assess the competitive intensity of the publication. Does it highlight new professionals or showcase seasoned veterans? Again, finding publications that match your experience level will improve your chances of success.
Finally, tailor your submission to fit the needs
of the publications you’ve identified. Choosing the right shots can dramatically improve your chances of being featured. There are a few general guidelines that are useful for all submissions: for example, you will want to include at least fifty images and a large number of detail shots. However, if you really want your submission to stand out, try to identify exactly what kind of shots each publication tends to feature and prepare your submission accordingly. What are the editors known for? What makes their publication
unique? If you can pinpoint the particular style or interests of the magazine or blog, you can be sure to submit exactly what the editors are hoping to see.
