3 Secrets to Rise Above the “Great Recession” and Book Brides with Money

A lot of wedding pros have a problem getting friendships to pay off financially in addition to just being jovial with one another. It's truly no joke when I explain repeatedly that creating strategic alliances with other vendors is truly THE fastest path to a lot more brides...and to cash!

This especially helps when reaching for brides with money.

High-end brides and brides with money will trust a personal referral over a random search any day. And, if you can have multiple vendors referring you to brides repeatedly, you’re in.

I've come to realize that no one has really been able to walk through what many are calling this "Great Recession" unscathed. Many businesses have been hurting greatly. Others have felt a bit of a tightening. And others have continued to experience success, but only because they adapted quickly and drastically to the changing demands. I'm a part of the latter group. And I want you to be too.

Of course there is a smaller number of brides who are considered “high-end” than there were just 5 years ago, but they do still exist. And in large enough numbers so that you can actually make really great money working with them in your business. But, even if you don’t have a desire to work with high-end brides, we all want to work with clients who actually have the money to spend on our services. And this requires marketing, attracting and booking brides differently than in years past. For now, I’m going to give you a few secrets to get started.

Secret Number One: Create Strong Strategic Alliances

It's always great to have friends in the business, but it's even better to have friends who actually send you brides, right?

WedBiz Journal

In my own business, this happened so many times I've lost count. One bride in particular met with me along with both parents, and at

the end of the consultation, her dad sat back in his chair and flat out said to me, "Natalie, we're going to hire you for Liz's wedding, and here's why... First, you're a graduate of the University of Georgia, from the department of education (he was the Dean of that school), and secondly, we've literally been told by every single person we've met in the wedding community here that we have to call you, and lastly, you obviously know what you're doing." Notice the order of importance in his mind of why they should hire me.

Secret Number Two: Use Your Email to Market to Brides

The easiest way I've found to succeed in the "Great Recession" is by using my email. I was using it before everything shifted so drastically, but I learned very quickly how to radically step up my game, and shift what I needed to immediately to see the same results I expected when the econo- my was on top.

The best part of using your email is that it's dirt cheap. You don't have to go out and buy crazy expensive advertising, you don't have to market one -to-one-to-one anymore, and you can get your clients to pre-sell themselves on your services before you even meet with them. By the thousands. Even by the tens of thousands.
