NAWP Connect 2011: Lessons Learned
National Conference Chair Kelly Werder shares key points from the general sessions at this year’s NAWP Annual Conference.
Keynote speaker Andy Ebon ,The Wedding Marketing Authority- kicked off with “Avoiding Weddings of Mass Destruction.” He touched on a number of topics all relating to vendors understanding each others’ point of view and working together to create a great wedding day.
“Brides are confused,” Andy opened. “There is lots of inspiration out there *in magazines and on blogs+ without the budget to go with it.” He noted that it’s important that vendors encourage the bride to make choices that have the greatest impact first.
“Every wedding has a team whether or not you’ve chosen them,” he remarked. “It’s our collective jobs to make their day and take responsibility for the event,” and be the solution.
One way to ensure the couple has a great experience? Great wedding coordinators, superior venues and industry standards for certification.
The Public Relations Panel at our networking lunch was a big hit. Stacie Francombe ,InspireSmartSuccess-, Siri Eklund ,Two Bright Lights- and Tiffany Cook ,Dream Design Weddings- shared their tips for getting published and on TV with moderator Kelly Werder ,WedBiz Media-. Key points included:
