The Manufacturing Forum, spon- sored by B&R Industrial Automation, is a brand new and exciting seminar programme for the PPMA Show. Addressing current industry challenges and opportunities, the Manufacturing Forum is your chance to learn from the latest case studies and success stories and gain insight to help you to improve your current processes and overcome everyday manufacturing obstacles. The Manufacturing Forum will update packaging professionals on the latest topics affecting the industry including automation, machinery safety, productivity and energy effi- ciency. Candidates can be either self- employed or employed and, to qualify, must have shown evidence of entre- preneurship, diligence and commit- ment that mark them out for special attention. The nomination of individu- als must have been made by a third party – ideally a manager, mentor, employer or – for those who are self- employed – a business partner/client. Entries to ‘The Ones to Watch’ will be judged by a panel of the most influ- ential people in the processing and packaging machinery industry, includ- ing some of the top names at UK machinery companies. The panel of judges is carefully chosen to ensure the awards remain impartial. All finalists’ entries will form part of an ‘Achievement Gallery’ at the PPMA Show from the 27th - 29th September 2011, with company profiles and case studies of the UK’s promising young professionals taking pride of place at the event. From the finalists, gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced at the Birmingham NEC on the evening of 27th September – with awards presented to each.
