Artists | MEXICO

-Do you aspire to collaborate in your creations with an artist from another artistic discipline?

Yes, I am always open to this idea. Collaborating with other artists makes me a stronger painter since it enables me to learn about various forms of artistic creation. In Mexico, I have worked in collaboration with other artists from other disciplines, including sculptors and even architects. I have always benefited from the experience.

-Do you have a favorite company or exciting other creator with whom you would like to work?

Yes. In fact, I have several large-scale international projects I’m developing and have thought about various companies and other artists that might be of interest, but I cannot mention those at this time. However, on April 7th, I will be working alongside Sarar, a Turkish clothing group, for a fashion and art show. They will be debuting their spring collection alongside my artwork.

I’m also currently working on a mural for a casino in Mexico, and for the month of April, seven of my pieces will be on display alongside the work of Shepard Fairey at Icosahedron Gallery in Chelsea. He is an artist I immensely admire, and I am excited for this exhibition.

-Do you follow any philosophical or psychological approach in making your art?

Yes. Almost always.

-What is your favorite building in the world?

My favorite building right now is the building in which I have my studio and gallery – The Alexander (250 East 49th

Street, New

York, NY). It is an incredible space, as I have a 360-degree, panoramic view of the city while I paint. Located in the heart of Manhattan, I can see everything, and this openness is how I view the canvas.

-What is your favorite hotel?

I like the Ritz-Carlton in Paris because of its rich history, and I also like the Waldorf Astoria in New York for its design and classic New York style. Unfortunately, I have not had the pleasure of staying in either hotel but would like to do so one day!

-What would be your ideal home?

My dream home is in the center of the forest amidst total tranquility. Wide open spaces, tons of sunlight, and enough space for my mind to think and be creative.

-Do you have any dreams for the future? My life is a dream, but somehow I am awake for it.
