Do you embrace the changes in the architecture industry regarding social media and technology influences?
Yes, although I see it as part of a continuum.
Do you like art? Do you have any preferences for an artist? And/or for creators of artistic work?
I like art, and I am inspired by arts of all kinds — food, fashion, literature, theater, music, painting, sculpture, graphic design, photography, poetry and dance.
In which way do you think design and art are different and/or similar?
I think all the creative endeavors have more similarities than differences. The differences are about technique; the similarities are about thought process, critical thinking, editing, and the relationship to the broader discipline.
Do you aspire to collaborate in your creations with an artist from another artistic discipline?
I always enjoy collaboration.
Do you have a favorite company or exciting other creator with whom you would like to work?
I’ve worked with painters and musicians. I’d like to work with a poet.
Do you follow any philosophical or psychological approach in making your designs?
My philosophy is my process.
What is your favorite building in the world? I don’t have a favorite building or even many favorite buildings. I get pleasure out of so many built things — from buildings and bridges, to dams and parks, to doorknobs and nightstands, or even a gorgeous pair of shoes. I am inspired by and excited by quirky and beautiful things of all sizes and types.
