He added it to the list: • Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day
Then, he continued, “Obviously, a small clinic like ours cannot offer all the benefits that companies like Go Go offer, but we should know about what is current and cutting-edge so we can cre- ate what would work for us. If we can’t have our own day care center (which we can’t), we might, for example, be able to partner with a community day care and work out an arrangement that would suit our employees. “I think we have enough interest and
a framework for exploration. Are there those who would like to research any of the items we’ve listed? Would some, maybe Tammy and others, be willing to think about possible pitfalls or problems that kind of a program might create?” At that, six individuals, including two who had not spoken up, walked up to the
white board and wrote their names next to an item of interest. Tom suggested that those individuals
provide him with a short summary of their findings in 3 weeks, and he would invite all those interested to join in for a discussion in a month. “Let’s see if we can make a plan.”
The meeting adjourned, but Tammy said nothing. “I want to think more about professionalism,” she thought. n
