Quality audience for tenth Railtex show
More than 9,200 industry professionals attended our tenth Railtex exhibition at Earls Court Two in London from 14 to 16 June. In all, 424 exhibitors took part in the show, presenting the very latest products and technologies for all sectors of the rail market. Exhibitor highlights included a strong presence by
Network Rail, plus large stands hosting Bombardier Transportation, Faiveley Transport, GE Transportation, Invensys Rail, Knorr Bremse, Siemens Mobility and Tata Steel, among many others. More than 30 firms exhibited as part of the Rail Alliance Rail Hub and a group of companies from across the Channel combined to form a French Pavilion. Some of the successes and new products announced by exhibitors are featured in this review of the show.
Railtex provided a great opportunity for exhibitors to discuss the benefits of their products

Feedback from exhibitors was very positive, with many companies reporting strong leads for new business and commenting on the upbeat mood in the industry. Exhibitor approval was
no doubt helped by data showing that some 65% of registered visitors stated that they had purchasing authority, enabling Railtex to once again deliver a high quality audience to participating exhibitors. Visitors to the show were very appreciative of this
year’s wide range of free seminars, which attracted large audiences. The keynote addresses and Network Rail project updates were special highlights. With varied and informative presentations by leading figures from the industry, this was our best ever programme and we thank Network Rail and the rail engineer for their work here. Also part of the event were other now familiar features
– the On-Track Display in association with Tata Steel and the well attended Networking Reception sponsored by CSC which took place at the end of the first day of Railtex. Successfully added to these this year was the Recruitment Wall, a well received facility that allowed exhibitors to alert visitors to jobs on offer. We offer our thanks to everyone who contributed to
the very great success of Railtex 2011. We take much encouragement from the appreciative response to this year’s show. Planning is now well underway for our next UK rail event, Infrarail 2012 at the NEC next May, and we hope to welcome many of you there. Details appear later in this review.
