Fireproof modular building
A fireproof high security modular building was one of several innovations presented by Rittal. Approved for use on London Underground, the building provides an unparalleled level of physical security against fire, water, unauthorised access, falling debris, vandalism and corrosive gases. Security Room has been awarded full ECB-S certification. Rigorous test results demonstrated that the security room can not only provide protection against fire for a full 180 minutes, but also can withstand a top temperature of 70°C and 85 per cent humidity for at least 60 minutes. Configured to
individual or local requirements, an operationally secure computer centre would include: double flooring, power supply, air conditioning, early fire detection, fire alarms and extinguishing systems, cable management, access control, room surveillance, alarm procedure concepts and water warnings as well as remote and video surveillance.
Rowe Hankins marks 25 years
Rowe Hankins chose Railtex as the launch venue for celebrations marking 25 years in business. It was also highlighting last year becoming one of the first UK rail industry suppliers to achieve IRIS quality certification. Among products on display was the NIC361 Series Monitor, a non-intrusive current monitoring device that detects variation in current with no direct effect on the power supply. Also featured by the company were the iWFL Intelligent Wheel Flange Lubrication system, examples of its world- leading Hall-effect speed sensors and remanufacturing services for electromechanical rail components.

Making its rail industry debut at Railtex was Coleshill-based consumables supplier Sil-Mid. Well established in the aviation market, Sil-Mid supplies a portfolio of products that includes adhesives, cleaners, coatings, composites, greases, lubricants, oils, paints, resins, sealants, silicones and solvents. The company says it can supply more than 14,000 products.
