PENALTY


If a player accidently causes his ball to move other than searching.


OTHER TIMES WHEN A PLAYER IS NOT PENALIZED WHEN CAUSING THE BALL AT REST TO MOVE INCLUDE: • Repairing old hole plugs or ball marks on the putting green


• Measuring • Lifting, placing and replacing a ball under a rule • Removing loose impediments on the putting green


• Removing movable obstructions • By another ball. If a ball at rest is moved by another ball in motion after a stroke, the moved ball must be replaced without penalty. If the ball is not replaced, the player incurs a total penalty of two strokes.


PENALTY NO PENALTY


There is no penalty if the player accidentally causes his ball to move while searching for the ball in a hazard covered by loose impediments or sand.


If a player’s ball moves after he has addressed it (other than as a result of a stroke), the player is deemed to have moved the ball and incurs a penalty of one stroke.
