Selling Long Haul will be producing a special follow-up supplement which will be published just in time for World Travel Market in November, where ProExport Colombia will
be exhibiting for the fi rst time in the history of the country’s national tourist offi ce.
In the last fi ve years alone UK visitor numbers have risen by over 50 per cent, while more than 60 UK tour operators now feature Colombia in their programmes, with the likes of Journey Latin America and Explore among them.
“Five years ago we were virtually an unknown destination,” says Juan Guillermo Perez, executive director of ProExport
Colombia in the UK. “In the UK we work predominantly with the trade as they are so important to us in raising awareness of the country and what we have to offer – nature, adventure, culture, history, beach and sun.”
