For a great way to spend a few hours on a Friday or Saturday get along to Borough Market, a short walk from London Bridge station. Here you will find the best of British and European food,
Camden Market is a great place to wander through on a Saturday afternoon, the sounds, the colours, the boutique stores. From there stroll along the canal to Little Venice, or make a visit to London Zoo.
One of my very favourite things, and usually reserved for special occasions, is to sip a champagne cocktail and watch the sunset over London from the spectacular Vertigo Bar at Tower 42. The view from 180m up is amazing.
For a more traditional treat, bring your jacket and tie and take afternoon tea at the Ritz. If fully booked, there are a number of other very plush London hotels offering a similar experience. As many cucumber sandwiches and cakes as you can eat!
London is of course famous too for it’s museums, my personal favourite is The Science Museum. It’s probably the childhood memories that it invokes, but there is always something new and interesting to see, touch or learn. We are never too old to learn something new.
I make no apologies. That is more than 5 things. But there is so much to do and see in London that I am sure you will forgive me!
