A-Ward unveils MiSlide: The loading solution
WHEN IT comes to container loading scrap metals, or any other bulk material, efficiency is paramount, according to container specialist, A-Ward, who claims to have invented the world’s first container tilter, MiTilt, back in 2006. There have been over 350 tilters sold worldwide, including over 100 in the US and over 60 in the UK. A-Ward has now launched the MiSlide; a horizontal container loader designed to load 20 and 40 foot containers with both light and extremely heavy gauge material. The result is reported to be a fast, safe and user-friendly container loader with almost zero container damage while doing so. The distinctive sliding system of this machine is
said to be completely unique, providing customers with a new way to load and offers an array of attractive benefits to its users. Reported to be
phenomenally fast, the MiSlide comes with remote controlled safety features that eliminate operator safety risks. Without the use of telescopic rams, service and maintenance costs are reduced.

A GROUND protection system manufactured solely from UK recycled plastic waste, GroundMate, has been unveiled by Centriforce Products. GroundMate offers a tough and durable substitute to traditional ground protection materials such as plywood. Water and slip-resistant, it will not rot or delaminate and costs up to 50% less than alternative systems.
Manufactured from high quality 100% recycled polymer waste feedstock, GroundMate is sourced from plastic bottles, carrier bags and transportation
film. The system is available in two formats. The standard GroundMate is suitable for pedestrian and light-to-medium vehicular traffic. GroundMate LT is a thinner, lighter weight mat, providing highly effective cover for hard, firm or decorative surfaces that need protection for vehicles such as construction traffic. GroundMate has an anti- slip tread finish on one side and a ‘diamond-embossed’ finish on the other. Standard GroundMate panels can be easily lifted or dragged into position using
the preformed handholds. Manufactured to a standard size of 2440 x 1220 mm (8’ x 4’), GroundMate panels can be laid longitudinally
and/or horizontally and have predrilled holes to allow easy connection and fixing.

www.centriforce.com Norwich snaps up Barkston’s plastic ‘wood’
A LEEDS plastic company has been given the green light after supplying recycled plastic ‘wood’ for use in Norwich’s first eco park.
CGM Landscapes, the principal contractor for the site, called in Barkston Plastics when they were asked to build a boardwalk as part of
the £160,000 facility. Barkston supplied recycled plastic decking planks, anchor posts and weight bearing sections for the 70 square metre boardwalk area, which forms part of the wider eco park area. Norwich City Council has been able to transform the former 8000 square metre site, former parkland, thanks to £100,000 funding from the Big Lottery Children’s Play Programme and £60,000 of developer’s contributions. Plastics, said: “Recycled plastic lasts five times longer than wood and is water, chemical and vandal proof.” Barkston’s products have also been made into railway sleepers, fencing for heavily waterlogged environments and furniture. “Within the last 10 years recycled plastic has developed into a real ‘alternative’ product, and is playing a major part in resolving many industry challenges, “added the marketing manager.
