Make a Reservation for Wildlife Preservation

Local hotels and B&Bs are being invited to join in on a thought provoking initiative called ‘Make a Reservation for Wildlife Preservation’.

Participating establishments will relay to their paying guests that £1 from their reservation will be donated back to local charity Secret World Wildlife Rescue.

The Crossways Inn in Highbridge is one of the first establishments to join after they recently opened their new bed and breakfast facilities.

Do you own or know someone who runs a hotel, B&B or guesthouse in the area who would be interested in this new initiative?

If anyone would like to join the scheme please contact the fundraising team on Tel: 01278 783250,

Sky Engineers Stomp for Secret World

Engineers from the South West took part in a Stomp for wildlife to raise much needed funds for Secret World.

email: cheryl@secretworld.org

Richard Curtis who led the team became involved with the charity after rescuing an injured pigeon whilst out and about in his van. Richard was so impressed with the service and caring response from the team that he is determined to help raise funds by getting his work colleagues involved. The engineers, who took part in the stomp, met staff and volunteers after a recent visit to Secret World where they used the visitor centre for a regional team meeting.

During their day the fundraising team found the time to show the engineers around the hospital facilities and saw many animals including baby birds, badger cubs and fox cubs. The following day the lads set off along the canal path from Bridgwater YMCA and completed their 12 mile jaunt at The Bathpool Inn at Taunton! Of course they rewarded themselves with some liquid refreshments at the end of their stomp! Well done lads!!
