he has since moved on. Others, like New Mexico State Director Gilbert Perea, Maine’s Rick Soules and Wyoming’s D. Leeds Pickering planned on enjoying the time off. John Green, supervisor of the Califor-
nia Department of Education’s Office of School Transportation, retired at the end of 2010 after 32 years in state government.
Joining him in retirement was Maxine Mougeot, who stepped down from her post after 25 total years with the Montana Office of Public Instruction. ■
