WHAT’S YOUR ALTERNATIVE? I am in favor of staying with diesel at this time and am not interested in

any of the alternate fuels. We are paying an average of $0.40 cents under pump price for our fuel, and [we] ask for prices from our local dealers on each delivery of 6,000 to 7,000 gallons. We have 31 buses in our fleet and burn approximately 5,000 to 6,000 gallons per month. I appreciate STN and the effort made to keep us up on student transportation news, and what the rest of the country is doing. Tank you.

AN UNFORTUNATE END Please cancel my subscription to School Transportation News maga-

zine. As of this past January, I was let go of my school bus job. I am looking into another field of employment. Tank you for all the information and articles your magazine has given me!

FOR THE RECORD An article in the May 2011 edition (“Driven to be Healthy and Wise,”

page 46) misquoted Jeff Walker, director of transportation for Litchfield (Ariz.) Elementary School District #79. Te article incorrectly inferred that Walker said his best school bus drivers have been senior citizens. In fact, Walker said, “I don’t believe there is an age. Some of my best

drivers have been older.” He added that all of his drivers are his “best driv- ers, or they wouldn’t be working here.” STN regrets this obfuscation and any confusion it may have caused.
