David Field President and CEO, OneRoof Energy Before co-founding OneRoof Energy, David Field transformed Applied Solar from a manufacturer of building- integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) products, into a developer and licenser of BIPV. OneRoof Energy, based in San Diego, also specializes in integrated rooftop residential solar, using photovoltaic tiles rather than separate panels that are leased by the owner from the company. In 2001, Field founded Clarus Energy Partners, a developer of distributed generation projects. He also founded Kiewit Fuels, making him one of the earliest investors in biofuels.
Gabe Klein Chicago commissioner for transport Gabe Klein has been appointed as the city’s head of transport by Chicago’s newly elected mayor, Rahm Emanuel. Klein’s chief priority will be implementing a new transport plan that includes turning the Windy City into the hub of the Midwest’s high-speed rail network and building 100 miles of bike lanes. Klein, a keen cyclist himself, introduced a bike-lane program in his last role as the head of Washington DC’s transport department. He previously worked as a regional VP for Zipcar and claims to work only on projects that provide “something positive for the future”.
Mark Cirilli Co-founder and managing director, MissionPoint Capital Mark Cirilli has also been chief investment offi cer of Marshall Street Management since 2000 and was a founder and managing partner of MSM Capital Partners, where he developed the fi rm’s investment strategy in cleantech and environmental fi nance. He sits on the board of one of MissionPoint Capital’s investments, Ammonix, a concentrated solar-power manufacturer. At MSM Capital Partners, Mark led private investments in solar company SunEdison and carbon markets consultant, EcoSecurities. Cirilli was chief fi nancial offi cer at bicycle manufacturer Cannondale before moving into investment.

Sean Casten President and CEO, Recycled Energy Development Sean and his father Tom raised $1.5bn of private equity investment in 2007, backed by Bill Gates and Harvard University. Recycled Energy Development (RED) fi nances, develops and installs equipment to help manufacturers recover waste heat from industrial processes. Sean had previously worked at Turbosteam Corporation, which manufactures steam turbines to regenerate waste heat into energy, and on the energy team at consultants Arthur D. Little. Casten recently told Carbon Nation TV: “If you don’t give a damn about the environment, do it because you’re a greedy b****rd, and you just want cheap power.”
Michel Gelobter Chief green offi cer, Hara Over 25 years, Michel Gelobter has earned himself a reputation as a leading US climate strategist and thought leader on sustainability. His long résumé includes his tenure as the director of environmental quality for the city of New York and his presidency of Redefi ning Progress, a think-tank that helped California with the development of its climate change law, AB32. He is now chief green offi cer at Hara, a consultancy that helps organizations make profi ts while simultaneously improving both energy and resource effi ciency.
Steve Meyers Vice president of strategy, Enerpath Steve Meyers has worked with Enerpath, a producer of large-scale DSM programs for utilities, since 2003, overseeing strategy development and the marketing department. As a leader in the energy- effi ciency industry, he has published peer-reviewed articles and frequently presents at conferences and global meetings. Meyers has been an offi cer at two publicly traded energy companies, worked in Deutsche Bank’s Energy Trading Group, and done research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. A keen scholar, he has numerous degrees in energy fi nance, engineering and physics.
