CREATING CLIMATE WEALTH


Bob Hinkle President and CEO, Metrus Energy In 17 years in the industry, Bob Hinkle has developed and implemented more than $200m of energy-effi ciency projects globally. Before founding Metrus in 2009, he was VP of energy effi ciency at MMA Renewable Ventures. Metrus funds the initial capital and ongoing operating costs of energy-effi ciency projects, and customers pay them for verifi ed savings. Metrus’s Effi ciency Services Agreement structure is similar to a power purchase agreement. He says, “We enable customers to redirect their current utility spending to pay for comprehensive retrofi t projects that make energy effi ciency a resource.”


Jeff Rothbard President, Green City Finance Jeff Rothbard is founder of startup Green City Finance, which fi nances and installs “off ”-balance-sheet energy-effi ciency upgrades such as lighting retrofi ts, AC and heating, energy management systems and solar power at universities, hospitals, airports and schools. Before founding GCF, Rothbard was founder and owner of a $300m commercial real estate company in California and says he has “an intrinsic fl air for innovation, creative problem-solving, and measured risk-taking to drive consistent bottom-line improvements and shareholder returns.”


Paul Lightfoot CEO, BrightFarms Paul Lightfoot has been a serial entrepreneur since leaving his job as a Wall Street attorney in 1998. Lightfoot’s fi rst venture, Foodline.com, failed. He said of the experience: “When things fail, you have the ability to see everything with a better perspective than when things are going well.” BrightFarms develops rooftop hydroponic greenhouses with the aim of reducing the distance from farm to fork and the energy intensity of food production. As chief executive offi cer at the “vertical farms” company, Lightfoot will oversee the commission of a demonstration-scale greenhouse for Whole Foods Market, the fi rm’s most high-profi le project to date.


Larry Hatch CEO, Infl uent Motion With more than 20 years’ experience, Larry Hatch is adept at leading business transformations and startups. Past ventures include relaunching a leading consumer brand, producing $30m of top-line growth, and starting a supply-chain organization at Capital One that delivered $250m in cost reductions in four years from $1.5bn expenses. Hatch co- founded Infl uent Motion and is committed to building a team that rivals its technology portfolio as the company’s greatest asset. Personal growth and career go hand in hand for Hatch, who says: “I am drawn to opportunities at the intersection of creating value for a company and fulfi llment in my life.”
