Big Outreach Of New 25m Leo Spiderlift™
Underlines Teupen’s Innovative Edge
At Vertikal Days 2011 The impressive 18.0m horizontal outreach of Teupen’s new 25m working height Leo tracked SpiderliftR is set to be a talking point at this year’s Vertikal Days* lifting show.
The centrepiece to Ranger Equipment’s stand (134A), the new Leo25T Plus offers an extra 5.5m in lateral outreach (at 80kg platform capacity) over its nearest rival.
Effectively creating a new class of spider lift, it uses elements of Teupen’s existing 25m and 30m machines. The design combines a toughened boom structure based on the lighter weight Leo25T (still available) with the extra anchoring of the Leo30T’s 1.58m wide chassis, complete with its hydraulic height adjusting crawlers. While this generates the required rigidity and stability to support the platform’s productivity-boosting 18.0m maximum outreach, Teupen has kept gross weight to a low 3760kg to fit on many modern 7.5T lorries. The new machine also improves on the 15.5m outreach (at 80kg capacity) of the standard Leo 25T, and still manages 15.0m outreach at full 200kg platform capacity. Ranger Equipment is confident the machine will be well received in the UK.
“There has been an excellent order take-up in Germany for the Leo25T Plus following a busy demonstration programme,” said Steve Hadfield, MD. “Customers’ key reaction has been to the outreach, of course, as well as the speed, rigidity and smoothness of boom operation and the machine’s overall refinement. It is also a very simple platform for renting out.” The Leo25T Plus includes enhancements being rolled out across the full Leo range as part of Teupen’s ‘facelift’ programme to maintain its edge for user- friendly, high productivity, reliable design. This has already seen the launch of an updated Leo18GT (18.0m w/h) and Leo23GT (23m w/h), also at the show. Among other things, the new generation models benefit from new, more fuel- efficient engines and a slicker power management system for faster drive and boom functions.
