Mortal Kombatclose behind at No.2. That’s despite respective week-on-week sales dips of 51 per cent and 42 per cent for each game.
Zumba Fitnessfrom 505 GAMES rose to No.3 following its release on PS3, which joins the Xbox 360 and Wii SKUs. Sales of the PS3 version made up 10 per cent of sales.
CODEMASTERS saw its new FPS Operation Flashpoint: Red Riverrise two places to No.4, eclipsing ACTIVISION’S Call of Duty: Black Ops which sits at No.5. And Red River moved up even though sales dropped 21 per cent compared to last week.
The only new release to make an impact in the Top 40 was Virtua Tennis 4from SEGA at No.23. The publisher’s other new title, Thor, didn’t break into the Top 40.
Meanwhile, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable topped the PSP chart, courtesy of GHOSTLIGHT. The PSP chart has become home to a number of cult RPGs of late, including several titles from SQUARE ENIX such as The 3rd Birthday which is currently at No.6.
A number of titles re-entered the Top 40 this week such as Activision’s Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rockat No.29 and Batman: Arkham Asylum from WARNER BROS at No.33.
Price promotions also caused MICROSOFT’S Halo: Reachto re-enter the chart at No.37, one position ahead of EA’s Bulletstormwhich dropped 14 places to No.38.
