Cult franchise is revised with new characters and modes. Billy Langsworthy explains
SINCE ITS first title in 1998, the Guilty Gearsseries has garnered a cult following, and the franchise now returns with a range of new features in the latest title, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus. This is the first title in the series that can be played in 480p with greater visuals. Retaining the anime graphics and a soundtrack inspired by Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden and Queen, the latest Guilty Geartitle includes a range of new moves for players to enjoy. This includes the Force Break which allows fans to use 25 percent of the Tension Gauge as well as the Slashback, a parry with reduced block stun. GET INTO CHARACTER Fans of the franchise can play with up to 25 different characters, including fan favourites Justice and Kliff as well as two new characters never before seen outside Japan. These are Order-Sol, a past version of Sol Badguy, and A.B.A, an artificial life form whose relationship to the much loved Swedish pop band of the same name remains unknown.
