CACI also offer Chroma Clear, a gentle abrasion treatment that removes dead cells from the skin surface to reveal fresh, youthful looking skin. Chroma Clear represents a significant advancement over traditional Microdermabrasion treatment methods. Chroma Clear uses perfectly round microspheres, which gently exfoliate by producing a rapid tapping action as they are passed across the skin surface. The system delivers a precision exfoliation that leaves the skin looking softer and more youthful.

Also available, the Derma SK4 from Star Products International is a Microdermabrasion system that eliminates the need for chemicals or lasers for exfoliation. It is a versatile procedure that can be combined with other treatments to help achieve the client’s desired results. The non-surgical resurfacing procedure immediately restores smoother, younger looking skin and is ideal for treating skin conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles, acne prone skin, oily or dry skin, sun damaged skin, blackheads, superficial age spots and hyperpigmentation.

Alternatively, the Thalgo Skin Expert offers mechanical and chemical Microdermabrasion in a single treatment. Thalgo skin expert aluminium oxide micro crystals are projected onto the skin through a device extension and

instantly aspirated, with an even and effective procedure. Magenta light is then projected over the skin, this has an antibacterial, lightening and healing effect on the skin. The next step is chemical face peel with lactic, citric and malic acids to complete the skin renewal process and stimulates cell renewal. Skin is comforted and soothed with a professional repair mask and then protected with a sun protection product.

Dull and tired skin is revitalised to appear radiant and smooth with just one treatment. Microdermabrasion also stimulates the production of collagen over time, resulting in fi rmer and more youthful looking skin. For maximum results, a series of six treatments is recommended.

Master microderm

Silkdermic is the Microdermabrasion unit from Sorisa, available from Beauty Express. Silkdermic helps eliminate the superficial layers of skin cells whilst stimulating cell regeneration, increasing the production of collagen, enhancing the skin’s appearance, and improving elasticity. It is used for both facial and body treatments and uses the abrasive properties of aluminium oxide micro-crystals. A vacuum system projects the crystals onto the skin that then gently exfoliate the skin surface before being vacuumed into the

deposit chamber. This allows for a slow, layer-by-layer abrasion to the desired level for each client to induce skin regeneration.

Sorisa Silkdermic uses disposable heads (the only part of the equipment that makes contact with client’s skin) for the treatments which are only used on one client, making it very hygienic.

It has many benefi ts which are noticeable from the first session which include fine, toned, soft skin, disappearance of fine lines, reduction of wrinkles and imperfections, diminished post-acne marks and scars, progressive reduction of lines and scars, uniform skin colour and gradual reduction of pigmentation disorders and gradual recovery of ageing skin and elasticity.

Salons can add a Silkdermic treatment to their facials, body treatments and offer it on its own. There are ten settings on the Silkdermic and each client will require a different level to begin with, depending on the thickness of their skin. A salon should recommend a course of five to 20 sessions depending on the client, and each session should be seven to 10 days apart. Facial treatments can take as little as 10 minutes, or up to 30 minutes for a larger body area, offering an ideal way generate extra revenue for your salon.
