UoC near you
We have our main campuses near you in Carlisle, Lancaster and London and bases in Penrith, West Cumbria at Energus, Ambleside and at Furness College and Barrow in Furness in 2012. Studying close to home means that time away from home is minimal, travel costs are reduced and it’s easier to fit around your normal work and home life. Not all courses and services are available at all campuses—please see the location listing.
At your pace
Our part-time undergraduate and postgraduate degrees can be studied at a pace suitable for you. You could complete an undergraduate degree in as little as three years part-time, or six years if your circumstances mean you need to progress at a different pace.
Courses are short in length because you are busy. Some repeat at different times of the year allowing you to choose when to study.
Getting to know us
Book onto a campus tour at any of our campuses for an opportunity to be shown around by one of our friendly student ambassadors. Our ambassadors are informative and helpful and will give you an honest opinion of life as a student at the University of Cumbria, as well as giving you an in-depth tour around the facilities and services on campus.

Tuition costs
When you choose to study part-time, you are investing in yourself and your career. When you apply online, you will find the fee applicable to that course.
From September 2012, part-time undergraduate students will be eligible to apply for a loan to cover the cost of tuition costs. There will be no upfront fee to pay, with easy repayments once you graduate and you are earning at a certain level.
