IR to buy CHiL for $75M International Rectifier Corp. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held CHiL Semiconductor Corp. for $75 million in cash. IR says the acquisitionwill expand the company's technology by adding a digital powermanagement platformthat improves energy efficiency in a variety of applications, including computing systems, graphics, servers and gaming. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2011.

Digi-Key joins CEDA
Digi-Key Corp., Thief River Falls,Minn., has joined the China Electronics Distributor Alliance (CEDA) as a foundingmember. CEDA was created to promote franchised distributors' value-added services, strengthen cooperation between suppliers and distributors of electronic components, and to encourage technological innovations with the support of government incentive policies, said Digi-Key.
CEDA is supported by the Chinese
government and related industry associations, aswell as distributors of electronics that conduct businesswith Chinese companies.
