Display Products Intelligent displays for industrial apps

Electronic Assembly has integrated a graphic controller into its eDIP128-6 family of displays. Themonochrome 128 by 64 pixel display is also availablewith a touch panel, making it ideal formachine control applications in a range of industries.

The built-in graphic controllermakes it

easier to design control panels into equipment, machines and systems. Graphic commands are available to programfunctions and position characters and imageswith no need for additional software or drivers. Users can also define

touch-activated controls on the displaywith control labels set to the local language. This all helps to reduce time tomarket.

A choice of three serial interface options are

available: RS-232, SPI or I2C.Operating temperature range is -20 to 70°C,making it suitable for industrial applicationswithwhite LED lighting for contrast and readability in bright lighting conditions. Displays can be supplied either for positive or negative display with blue background.

Breaking the customTFT mould

A new full customTFT module service has been introduced by Anders Electronics withminimum order quantities fromas low as 800 units permonth.

The service combines design,

Hitachi Display Products Group (DPG) has introduced two newultra high brightness (UHB) TFT display modules designed for sunlight readable applications.

The new transmissivemode displays feature high

brightness LED backlighting, providing a brightness of 1000cd/m². These long life LED backlights provide 70K hours of operation to half brightness lifetime, a figure which was previously only achieved with power hungry CCFL backlights.

The 6.5in TX17D01VM2EAB and 10.4in

TX26D14VM2EAA displays feature contrast ratios of 600:1 and 800:1 respectively, with adjustable LED backlight brightness. An anti-reflective (AR) polariser coating also helps eliminate reflections in outdoor and direct sunlight applications.

development andmanufacture of customTFT displays with integrated driving circuitry and touch solutions. It promises low non-recurring engineering (NRE) charges for applications in the industrial, medical andmilitarymarkets where volumes are low and buyers have been unable to take advantage of customTFTs.

Anders' service offers TFT glass sizes up to 6.5in and display resolutions up to

WVGA. In addition to defining bezel sizes, connector types and position, LED backlight assembly, liquid fluid type, and optical films, the TFT displaymodules can integrate customer defined interface circuitry and on board control peripherals, DC/DC converters, backlight circuits and power supplies. This can free up space in the device, enhance reliability and save overall cost.

All customTFT solutions guarantee availability of five to seven yearsminimumwith

a single point of supply for the complete display solution, offering logistical and accountability benefits.
