Weldability-Sif Weldability-SIF, the UK based supplier of MIG, TIG, MMA, Spot and Oxy/Fuel welding and Plasma cutting machines, torches, accessories, consumables and personal protective equipment has launched its 2011 Product Range Catalogue - “The Welder’s One-Stop Shop”, which is available on line or as a printed version free of charge upon request The new catalogue is designed around 15 different product sections incorporating a multitude of new quality products for welding and fabrication in 2011. New products include MIG, TIG and MMA welding machines and Plasma cutting equipment, Phantom large lens auto-darkening welding helmets, ‘ProtectoVac’ portable welding fume extraction equipment, On-Torch Flashback Arrestors plus a welding table and inflatable purging bag kits. Welding consumables from the SIF range of products include special Alloy wires (625, Ti5, Duplex, SuperDuplex, 120s-G and 2%Ni), an expanded range of MMA electrodes including 7024, 6010 Cellulosic and 7016 Spezial as well as a new ECO Flux paste for oxy/fuel brazing and welding. Information on a new Sif CeraMIGuard Ceramic dry-film spatter prevention spray and a Siftemp IR Digital Infra-Red and surface probe thermometer are also included.


In addition, the new catalogue has sections on ‘SIF tips’ for welding applications and procedures, abrasive grinding discs, gas cylinder handling equipment, electrode drying ovens as well as industrial safety products including goggles, respirators and welding screens.

P-O-P success


for Yeoman! Due to the success of its Autumn promotion, leading garden tools brand Yeoman, a Solus brand, is stepping up its point -of –purchase (P-O-P) video promotion for Spring 2011. The innovative promotional videos, which were used throughout the Autumn as part of the Solus Autumn Price Fall campaign, have had a direct positive impact on sales of featured products.


The two stage Autumn promotion focussed on two products: The Telescopic Tree Pruner with Fruit Picker Attachment, ideal for early Autumn and the fruit harvesting season, and The Bypass Geared Lopper suitable for late Autumn when focus shifts to pruning ahead of Winter. The video screens were neatly displayed on a branded stand, with accompanying product range, showing each product in use, with clear explanations of different settings, unique selling points and intricate detail and uses.


The promotion was used by hundreds of stockists around the UK and brought over £1500 of extra sales to some customers this Autumn. As a whole the promotion added a substantial amount to the turnover of the Solus Autumn Price Fall campaign, with a significant amount attributed to sales turnover of the Bypass Geared Lopper alone.
