In other news, lodge members delivered more than 50 food baskets, each of which contained a full holiday meal, to needy families. They deliv- ered 27 of the baskets before Thanks- giving and about 25 before Christmas.


Melbourne, FL, Lodge members, with the help of a $1,000 ENF Gratitude Grant, distributed dictionaries to 540 third-grade students at local schools. In other news, the lodge donated $500 to the Elks National Foundation.

Lodge members also gave about 300 items of nonperishable food to the Newton County Community Food Pantry and sent electronic greeting cards to 20 US servicemen and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Englewood, FL, Lodge held a Christ- mas Party for 23 children and treated them to a video, a sing-along, face painting, ornament decorations, and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, who gave each child a gift. Lodge members also gave gifts to 20 needy children through an Angel Tree Program and gave holiday baskets containing food and gift cards to four needy families. In other news, the lodge donated 42 bags of groceries to local food pantries.


Holiday Isles, FL, Lodge members gave dictionaries to 192 third-grade students at local elementary schools.

Port St. Lucie, FL, Lodge members, accompanied by Santa and Mrs. Claus, visited Brighton Gardens, an assisted living home, and gave presents to about 110 residents of the home. Lodge members also treated the residents who could attend to dessert and Christmas carols in a common area of the home.


St. Petersburg, FL, Lodge held an impromptu Polar Plunge fund-raiser and raised $115 for the Harry-Anna Trust Fund, which supports the two state major projects, the Florida Elks
