Visitor numbers up by 22% at MESS AROUND, Paris, 23 to 25 January 2011

ESS AROUND, the Shoe + Leather goods and accessory tradeshow, which took place from the 23 to 25 January 2011, at the same time as the fashion tradeshows in Paris, exhibited 380 brands, an increase of more than 40% compared with the January 2010.


The show drew an encouraging 7,081 visitors, an increase of 22% over last


year. Visitors were impressed by the greater choice of footwear offered in the five product areas. The exhibitors of MESS AROUND maintain that the coherence and visibility of the different product areas contributed greatly to the success of the show. The exhibitors say they were pleased with the increased number of buyers from the apparel sector, and with the increase in concept and multi-brand store buyers, showing an overall 45 % increase (1334 buyers) on the previous year. Many more brands will be joining MESS AROUND as new exhibitors for the


September show - names to be announced shortly. The media covered the event with more than 240 journalists who came to discover the brands and the trends for Autumn/Winter 2011-12.


SHOE AREA In the Casual/Urban/Sport shoe area, over 50 brands were exhibited,


including Aigle, Airness, AP-Shoes, Bjorn Borg, Buggy, Compagnie de Californie, Camper, Converse, Cycleur de Luxe, Dkode, Dupe, El Naturalista, Goliath, GroundFive, Hush Puppies, Kickers, Mel, Patrick, Relife, US Polo, 1964.


BAGSTAGE The success of the opening of MESS AROUND to leather goods and


accessory products last September, led the tradeshow to launch an entirely new area called BAGSTAGE in January 2011. This new dedicated area exhibited more than 35 brands of leather goods and accessories. Displays linked to the shoes + leather goods, and accessory sectors are


MESS AROUND's Trademark! Situated at the entrance to the show, the Be Street Pop Up Ice Shop,


created an upbeat buying atmosphere for the visitors from the start! As the visitors left the pop up store and entered into the tradeshow - MESS AROUND welcomed them into an atmosphere that defines the tradeshow’s values: Know-how and Creativity, with the Aigle exhibition 'Savoir Faire Savoir Vivre', and the Atelier Chardon Savard, which displayed many of their students' prototypes and projects. The exciting fashion trends space gave visitors insight into the various


trends for the Autumn/Winter 2010, for both adult’s and children’s footwear. There was also an expert shoe-making demonstration and a professional shoe shiner offering visitors free shoe-shines.


The next MESS AROUND show will take place at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles,
