BLC Footwear Services Footwear Testing from BLC BLC offers a wide range of
footwear testing and can test in line with CEN standards on footwear. The footwear testing service comprises whole shoe, leather, materials, component and fit assessments. We can test all men's, women's and childrens footwear. We can test to national, European and international standards.
BLC's footwear testing facility provides the capability to measure the
performance of footwear to ensure that it meets appropriate performance requirements for quality and safety. Our UKAS accreditation for a range of footwear testing reinforces and
demonstrates BLC's competence, impartiality and performance capability in the area of the product testing services sector to meet the needs of manufacturers and retailers. Whilst many footwear testing laboratories are only able to supply simple
pass/fail test reports; BLC is able to offer additional support and advice immediately upon report of a sample failure.

chemical testing laboratory with considerable expertise in dealing with the complex nature of leather and related substances. We are in a unique position with 90 years experience of leather and related products to identify the compounds that are likely to be present in materials tested where they may
originate and the likelihood of false positive results. We can provide chemical testing for a whole range of products including
footwear, bags, belts, jewellery, accessories etc. The operation of an effective due diligence process is important to ensure

Shoe Fit Assessment BLC provides a
comprehensive, technical and commercially focused shoe fit service for children's, ladies and men's footwear. Standard turnaround time for shoe fit assessments is 3 working days with an express, next day service available for a premium. This service is provided
by experienced, qualified shoe fitters, who work closely with local schools and nurseries to ensure fit models of all sizes are available. The model ages range from pre-walkers to 16 yrs and incorporate all associated shoe sizes. For each pair of shoes fitted, a minimum of three models will be used, subject to availability. Shoe fits assessments are carried out to UK and European sizing. BLC offers shoe fit assessments during school holidays.
