U.S. servicemembers are implement- ing squad-, platoon-, company-, and battalion-level training, with the intent to rotate Iraqi army battalions every 30 days until the division is fully trained on conventional off ensive and defensive maneuver operations. The inaugural training cycle will culminate with a bat- talion-level live-fi re exercise conducted by Iraqi army soldiers. “Once the training is complete, they’ll be able to mold it into their own system to make it work for them,” says 1st Lt. Sean Mitcham, USA, a platoon leader. — Spc. Angel Washington, USA
