So you survived that stressful presentation at work on Monday and even made your photographer appointment on time… But now it’s 7:30 P.M. and you’re absolutely starving! Don’t allow your fav fast food restaurant to lure you into gulping down yet another huge burger and fries! Instead with a little pre- planning, you can pop a healthy (and better tasting!) dinner on the table that won’t cause you to wake up in the morning feeling yukky and bloated.


Meal Planning Maven’s Fav Tip:


Always keep a collection of healthy staples in your fridge, freezer and pantry


For example, if you defrost a pound of lean ground turkey or beef and add some fridge and pantry staples, you can have a big pot of chili ready to dig into within an hour of coming home! And guess what? This delicious tummy -warming chili makes enough for lunches at work, a second dinner this week or to divide into single portions and freeze for future dinners on the run. It’s that easy!

Add a yummy colorful green salad and you’re good to go!...


Which brings me to another Golden Tip from The Meal Planning Maven:


Always keep a well- stocked “salad bar” in your fridge!


Okay, I know you don’t want to waste your precious free time, slicing, dicing and chopping, I mean who does? But I’m here to tell you with a just a bit of advance planning you can have any number of gourmet salad creations (no food boredom allowed!) ready for on the go lunches

dinners….which by the way will cost you less than what you spend on “take-out!” Yes, you will have to do some grocery shopping… sorry about that! So make your list ahead of time, choose the best time to do your shopping and GO! Store all your pretty fresh veggies in mini containers or baggies in the fridge and stock your pantry with your newly bought salad bar staples. Now all you have to do when you come home after yet another exhausting day is pop your salad goodies into a bowl and add your fav dressing!


Need even quicker? Top your salad with an easy protein like canned tuna, salmon or shrimp, leftover chicken or your favorite beans and your dinner is on the table in minutes!
