From the Editor’s Desk “First we start with the Cake,” - Frank (Father of the Bride)
We are so excited to bring you our inaugural issue of WED. What an adventure it’s been!
My vision in bringing you this new digital magazine was to create a publication that not only would provide planning tips and ideas for your wedding but would also allow you to connect directly to vendors of interest by clicking the links in their articles or ads, or with vendors and brides in our social network WedTown. I also wanted to spotlight the best-of-the-best of the wedding industry.
With that in mind, we start at the very top with the Grande Dame of Cakes, Sylvia Weinstock. Her cakes are legendary, architectural
wonders and she is an amazing woman to boot! We know you’ll enjoy our interview with her and her advice to you in selecting your wedding cake.
Mrs. Weinstock also helped us select The Winner of our “Great Cake-off.” Use the designs of our winner and incredible nominees to help inspire your design.
Although this issue focuses on cakes, we want to provide a well-rounded look at Everything Weddings. Inside you’ll find planning advice from The Wedding Professors, the latest photography options in “Cool Stuff,” and learn how to “Green your wedding.” Our “Something Borrowed” section brings you the best in Real Wedding inspiration.
And if you want to get fit for your big day (or the honeymoon), our “Get Ready for the Gown” section is for you! You’ll find great direction here on planning an exercise regime, eating healthy and we’ve even included a video with specific moves to add to your workout.
What we love about our digital platform is our ability to include audio and video, and to connect with you beyond the magazine. Anywhere you see our bride tapping away on her computer, is an opportunity to learn more about the topic, get personal advice, or join in the conversation on WedTown.
We hope you enjoy our magazine – it was infused with love! I’d love to hear what you think, or if you have ideas for articles you’d like to see, write to me at
editor@wedbizmedia.com.
Happy Reading! Kelly Kelly Werder
