Get Ready for the Gown!

Consult with your physician before starting any new meal plan or making a change in your diet.

Meal Planning Maven Linda Shapiro gives you direction for getting healthy and ready for your gown.

Hi, I’m Linda Shapiro, your Personal Meal Planning Maven….

Hmmmm….you might say- what is this about personal meal planning? I’m already trying to juggle work while planning a wedding, do I really need to worry about what to eat too?

Well…here’s the scoop: you already know you want to feel fabulous in your gown on your special day….and what about “from this day forward?” Even if you’re a work out junkie, you may not be looking your very best if your eating and cooking habits need a makeover! As a Personal Meal Planner, I can help you feel beautiful on your wedding day, as well as also show you how weaving simple planning, shopping and cooking tricks into your daily routine can help you feel wonderful year after year.

So what qualifiesmoi to be a Personal Meal Planner?

Can I tell you that I have been in love with cooking and recipes since my Easy Bake Oven days? That I’ve been cooking up a storm since I was five years old? (always made my younger sister do the clean up!) Would you believe I owned a 30 year collection of Bon Appetit and Gourmet Magazines? Yeah, I guess you could say I’m addicted!

Now for the real qualifications: I earned a BS in Nutrition Food Science and Clinical Dietetics from

WED The Magazine

Drexel University and completed my dietetic internship at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I practiced clinical nutrition in Philadelphia area hospitals for several years, as well as worked as an administrative dietitian for an institutional foods company. After moving to Naples Florida, I taught cooking classes to preschoolers where I enjoyed helping parents learn to feed their children healthy food that was fun to prepare.

I eventually realized that my true passion was combining my love for recipes and cooking with planning quick, easy and healthy meals that won’t break the bank. I have worked for the past seven years as an editor, professional meal planner, recipe creator and food product tester for Dr. Ann Louise Gittleman, C.N.S. Ph.D., a New York Times Best Sellers’ List nutritionist. I also assisted Dr. Gittleman with her blockbuster book, The Fat Flush Plan as well as six other books including The Fat Flush Cookbook, The Fast Track Detox Diet, Hot Times and Fat Flush for Life. I coordinated the meals for her spa weekends and cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean and Mexico, as well as created recipes for articles in First for Women and Woman’s World magazines. For the past six years, I have provided a personalized meal planning service for Dr. Gittleman’s readers and private clients. Meal planning for others has become a true love!
