faster recoverability.
Vision’s
products address this critical High Availability requirement in almost every industry today via easy to manage and use solutions.
The Double-Take
Software solutions for Windows work in a similar way to the Vision Solutions high availability solutions for IBM platforms, so there were many synergies from a technology and business perspective.
SNS: In terms of merging the two companies, what has been achieved to date, and what is still needing to be done?
AA: Well, as you can imagine, integration work is key. Vision has become very good at moving quickly and most importantly, isolating our customers from this internal integration work.
All
managers stay focused on our customers, and nothing is ever done that could effect our customers in a negative manor.
To date, we have
merged all of our technology R&D groups, and moved all development groups to a common development and measurement process.
Our
strategy groups were also brought together to take advantage of synergies between the companies.
We also merged our services and customer care organisations quickly so that our joint customer base would get the “best of the best” from day one. Lastly, we completed bringing our marketing organisations together so that we had consistent messaging

between the groups, for our channel partners and the wider market. We are currently working on our internal systems as well as our sales and distribution groups, but we expect this integration work to be completed in 2011.
SNS: And what would you see as the key advantages of the new operation, having absorbed Double-Take, over time?
AA: Vision Solutions is ardently committed to the combined product roadmap that both companies had in place, which includes the delivery of a broad range of innovative technology, services and solutions across Windows, IBM Power Systems and Linux platforms. Our customers’
investments in
technology Vision and
Double-Take Software offerings are secure and they will continue to pay dividends in exciting new ways for our customers. We are excited about how we can use our deep virtualisation expertise from across both organisations, and we are working on how to turn this into unique high availability solutions.
SNS: Specifically, how will the Channel be affected by the coming together of the two companies?
AA: Vision is firmly committed to the success of our combined partner network over all the regions we work across. We foresee that the acquisition will be welcome
news for partners that want to help their customers improve availability and manage risk on a broader base of platforms.
With the acquisition of Double-Take, the number of partnerships we have is significant. Vision now has strategic partnerships with the world’s largest technology providers, including IBM, Microsoft, HP, Dell, VMware and Amazon. We have reseller and system integrator partners covering every region and market niche. The result will be enhanced opportunities, service levels and convenience for partners and customers alike.
SNS: And is your geographical coverage of the backup/recovery market now, more or less, complete, following the acquisition?
AA: We feel we have a great portfolio of high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and data transformation products, and that we have a strong channel partner network to take these to market with. The Double-Take channel was particularly active across a wide range of markets. That being said, the world is always changing and we are always looking at additional products, solutions and partners that will add value for our customers.
SNS: And what technology developments might be enhanced by the join-up?
AA: The acquisition gives our
