I wish everyone could have attended my Homecoming in Washington, D.C. We had such a wonderful time. Thank you to my Department for a job well-done. It was at this event that we announced our contribution to Extreme Makeover: National Home Edition! We’re helping the Home renovate the bathrooms in the Guest Lodge. See Page 6 for more information and how you can help. I kicked things off with a $20,000 donation! We also had a very special ceremony at the Statue of


Liberty. We made it to Liberty Island with gorgeous weather. Read more about this unique event. We are still the only organization to celebrate Lady Liberty’s birthday. See Page 12. This past fall, we had the honor of co-sponsoring an event


with the VFW for the Women Airforce Service Pilots of World War II. These amazing women served their country in a unique way. See Page 26.


The Ladies Auxiliary VFW has been supporting the


Hospitalized Veterans Writing Project for many years, and their therapeutic writing program is as relevant for today’s veterans as it was for those 50 years ago. See Page 16. There is still time to make arrangements and join us
