had translated into a lifetime of leadership. “She never gives up, and that spirit of strength carries over into everything she does.” He asked all members to contemplate the great distance the two organizations had traveled together since 1914, to consider the impact of the GI Bill and other benefi ts on the quality of life for men and women in uniform over the years. In the 21st century, that partnership will continue and its singleness of purpose continues, he said.
