Bbi complete work on office fit-out for
South Hook is the largest Liquefied Natural Gas re-gasification terminal in Europe. A state-of-the-art fleet of ships transports the LNG from Qatar’s gas fields to the terminal in Milford Haven. At South Hook, the LNG is re-gasified and delivered to the UK‘s homes and businesses via the national grid.
The work has been carried out under the HSG 250 permit to work system, which allows companies to work within the petroleum and chemical industries. The project involved converting an existing workshop into office space. A mezzanine floor was used to house an office suite, meeting room and open plan space, which was engineered to the highest standards.
All work was supervised by a qualified Bbi manager, known as a ‘performing authority’, who oversaw each technician’s work. This is a petro-chemical industry specific standard which ensures all work is double checked while in progress. Gary Burridge, Bbi’s account manager
has extensive experience of operating in the oil and gas industries, and has brought this experience to bear on the project. The workshops remained a live working environment throughout, which meant that Bbi completed the work around the fully- functioning South Hook team. Jason Hopper, South Hook’s procurement manager, said: “Integrating the existing electrical and mechanical systems with the new was an especially challenging task. Bbi’s level of service and professionalism has been central to the success of this project.”
