Great show for Jangro

Managing Director of K&M McLoughlin Decorating, Kevin McLoughlin (Right) , being interviewed by Alex Bushell (Left) from BBC London News

On the 13th October 2010 apprenticeships in London received a major boost with the opening of a unique training facility in Islington – The K&M Decorating School.

School for Apprentices

Fifteen youngsters from local colleges and schools will be beginning a three-year apprenticeship with his firm and become the first students at the School – much to the delight of The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson: “It’s great that this forward- thinking company sees the immense value of apprenticeships. As well as the benefits in helping young people develop key skills, the rewards can be incalculable to any business, as apprentices help build a talented and loyal workforce.”

In schools and colleges where space is at a premium, hands-on experience in painting and decorating can be limited. The K&M Decorating School is different. It comprises a fully fitted ‘dummy’ two bedroom flat with all the different decorating skills associated with such a project, linked to a IT training room where the apprentices can be helped to enhance their key skills.

Jangro, the largest network of independently owned janitorial supply companies with 40 branches across the UK, Ireland and the Isle of Man; has enjoyed a third successful Total Workplace Management Exhibition.

Jeremy Thorn, Marketing Director of Jangro said, “We have once again beaten our anticipated enquiry levels for the third time at TWM. By midday on the first day we had received more enquiries than we had in both days of last year’s event. What Jangro likes about TWM is that it provides a high volume of good quality enquiries and we have already booked again for 2011. Since we became the

national janitorial supplier with the most local outlets, our business has dramatically increased. Extra branches give us the ability to look after all new accounts with the highest service levels.”

A large proportion of enquiries were received for the Jangro’s Enviro and Sovereign Floor Care ranges, which were launched at previous TWM shows. The Jangro stand was busy from 9.00am without a break on both days.
