Railway converter product line expands
Martek Power, a leader in power supplies designed specifically for railway applications, announces significant additions to its industry leading Powertron family of DC/DC converters. The newDC/DC converters are extensions
toMartek’s established and successful JL series of open frame units originally designed for on-board passenger information systems.
The new JLMand JLHMconverters are rated at 35Wand 50Wrespectively and
offer all of the features and benefits of the standard range, including full EN50155 compliance, but in amuch smaller footprint. Both JLMand JLHMunits can accept the wide range of typical railway input
voltages and outputs can be specified between 5 and 110VDC. The open frame version of both productsmeasures just 115 x 85 x 22mm, which
is less than half the overall size of the original range. Thismakes the power supply ideal for customers wishing to install a converter in their own equipment where space is limited. For chassismount applications an enclosed version is also available.

Antenna handles multiple frequencies
Antenna Factor announces the DB1-LP Series of gain antennas. This tri-band log periodic antenna is designed for long distance directional communication over amultitude of frequencies. The DB1-LP antenna provides gain and directivity comparable to a Yagi antenna, but in amuch smaller formfactor and over a wider range of
frequencies.Made of UV stabilized materials, the DB1-LP antenna is designed for long- termuse in indoor or outdoor environments. The antenna includes completemounting hardware for standardmasts. DB1-LP antennas offer excellent value with outstanding performance and are available for less than $39.00 each in volume quantities.

AVX Corp., amanufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has expanded its TransGuard product family to include high temperature circuit protection devices designed specifically for harsh environment applications. Providing the industry's fasted response time to ESD strikes, the High Temperature CAN Bus Series offers high current and energy handling capabilities aswell as advanced EMI/RFI attenuation in addition to lowleakage characteristics at rated temperatures. The High Temperature
CAN Bus Series is AECQ200 qualified and represents the first offerings in a very extensive planned product group. The ZnObased ceramic device provides sub
1ns turn on time, which clamps energy before peak. With an operating temperature up to 150°C, the High Temperature CAN Bus Series is ideal for harsh environment applications including automotive, off-highway vehicle, industrial, oil drilling, andmore.

CUI Inc.’s power line, V-Infinity, announces the addition of a 1.5 Amodel to its V78XX switching regulator series. With this latest addition, CUI now offers 0.5 A, 1 A, 1.5 A, and 2 A switching regulators tomeet a wide variety of power needs. The compact V78XX- 1500 series has been designed to be a high performance alternative to linear regulators. Unlike linear regulators, this series does not require a heat sink, making it ideal for applications where board space is at a premiumand energy efficiency is a concern.
The V78XX-1500 series has efficiencies up 14 | Annual Edition 2011
to 95% in a compact SIP packagemeasuring 11.50 x 9.00 x 17.50mm. Units are pin out
and right angle pin configurations. This series has a wide input range available from4.75 to 18 Vdc and regulated output voltages of 2.5, 3.3, 5, and 6.5 Vdc. Operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C at 100% load. The non- isolated converters offer short circuit protection, thermal shutdown, very low ripple and noise, and anMTBF of 2million hours. The V78XX-1500 series switching regulators are available now through Digi-Key and start at $6.79 per unit at 1000 pieces.
