Sivida Corp. (NASDAQ: PSDV) announced that its licensee, Alimera Sciences (NASDAQ:ALIM)
has been notified that the U.S. Food and Drug Admi- nistration (FDA) has granted Priority Review status for the New Drug Application (NDA) filed for Iluvien for the treatment diabetic macular edema (DME). FDA Priority Review status is given to therapies that offer major advances in treatment, or provide a treat- ment where no adequate therapy exists. This status reduces the review time goal from 10 months to six months.
Dr. Paul Ashton, President and CEO of pSivida said, “With priority review a response from the FDA regar- ding Iluvien could be received in the fourth quarter of this year. Approval of Iluvien would trigger a $25 million milestone payment to pSivida from Alimera. Under the license agreement pSivida is also to recei- ve 20 percent of net profits on sales by Alimera.”
The news regarding priority review follows the sub- mission last month of the Marketing Authorization Application to the Medicines and Healthcare pro- ducts Regulatory Agency in U.K.; applications have also been submitted to regulatory agencies in Austria,
France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Filing in Canada is expected to take place in September. pSi- vida has joint ownership and reference rights to these regulatory filings.

VA TePla Danmark of Frederikssund, Denmark, manufacturer of crystal-growing systems using
float-zone methods, has received a further order from a Chinese company to supply float-zone systems with a total value of almost EUR5 million.
The Danish branch of PVA TePla AG specializes in the manufacture of float-zone crystal growing systems, with which high-purity, monocrystalline silicon rods in particular can be manufactured, for example for highly efficient photovoltaic wafers and for high-frequency applications in the semiconductor industry.

and S5K2N1, adopting back side illuminated (BSI) pixel technology. With excellent performance capa- bilities in low light scenarios, each imager is opti- mized for target applications such as smartphones for the S5K4E5 and digital still cameras (DSC) and digital video cameras (DVC) for the S5K2N1. The S5K4E5, a quarter-inch optical format 1.4 micron 5 megapixel (Mp) CMOS image sensor, is designed to support full resolution real-time video. By providing 30 frames per second (fps) full resolution frame rates it also enables the user to ‘catch the shot’ by capturing the frame as the user hits the shutter button thus redu- cing shot to shot lag time.
