M has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Attenti Holdings S.A. from an investor


group led by Francisco Partners, for a purchase pri- ce of $230 million in cash. Based in Tel Aviv, Israel, Attenti is a leading supplier of remote people mo- nitoring technologies used for a variety of offender monitoring applications, such as people awaiting trial or on probation; and to assist eldercare facilities in monitoring and enhancing the safety of patients.


3M, through its New Ventures business, invests in Printechnologics, a German printed electronics specialist, aimed at joint efforts for providing innova- tive solutions for electronic circuitry on paper or foil. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.


Printechnologics developed custom alterations to conventional printing methods with extremely high scalability and cost advantages to address mass markets. One product, a printed battery, is the first printed electrical power source which is not only thin and flexible but also easily and quickly adapta- ble to all product requirements. The printed battery is being developed in close co-operation with the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Electronic Nano Systems ENAS and the Institute for Print and Media Technology of the German Technical University of Chemnitz. http://www.printechnologics.com
