Several males surrounded a male pedestrian and punched him several times. One searched his pockets and took property. 17TH ST., 1700 block, 1 a.m. Aug. 27. Two men assaulted a male pedestrian as he walked to his residence. They robbed him of a cellphone and fled. The next day, the pedestrian was treated at a hospital for a fractured jaw, several cuts and facial bruises. 17TH ST., 3200 block, 5:20 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 7. A man entered the cash register area in a convenience store and pointed a gun at an employee, demanding cash. The robber fled with money.


18TH AND R STREETS., 12:45 to 12:50 p.m. Sept. 5. A man pulled a female pedestrian into an alley as she was using a cellphone. He tried to take it from her until she started to punch him. When he reached under her dress, she screamed. He fled. Nothing was reported taken. 18TH ST., 1900 block, 2:45 a.m. Sept. 5. Three males robbed a person of a cellphone and punched both of them in the face. They fled with the cellphone. 18TH ST., 2400 block, 3:05 to 3:10 a.m. Sept. 3. Two males and a female asked a female tarot card reader for a reading. The female customer did not like her reading and demanded her money back. The tarot reader refused. The female and a male snatched the tarot card reader’s purse, and the female customer hit her in the face. The robbers fled. 19TH ST., 1500 block, 8:45 to 8:46 p.m. Sept. 6. A male leaned over a railing and tried to grab a person’s property from a table in a patio area behind a coffee shop. The robber fled. Nothing was reported taken. 23RD ST., 900 block, 7:40 to 7:42 p.m. Sept. 6. A male youth grabbed an iPhone from a pedestrian’s hand and fled with another male youth. 29TH ST., 2800 block, 2:30 to 2:45 a.m. Sept. 2. A male started talking to a female pedestrian. She told the male that she was not interested in talking with him. He grabbed property from her, pushed her to the ground, punched her in the face and scratched her upper chest, then fled. 31ST AND M STREETS, 6:51 to 6:53 p.m. Sept. 6. When the burglar and an accomplice saw someone inside the house, they fled. WHITTIER ST., 500 block, 8:15 a.m. Sept. 1 to 2 p.m. Sept. 2. Property was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked window. WILTBERGER ST., 1800 block, 3:38 to 4:10 a.m. Sept. 5. Property was stolen from a business entered through a window.

A boarded-up house, where an eviction notice had been served by U.S. marshals, was entered by force. Dry concrete was spread on wood floors, the main and basement stairways and a living room carpet. EIGHTH ST., 4300 block, 7:30 a.m. Sept. 2. Property was stolen from a bedroom. 10TH ST., 3600 block, 9 p.m. Sept. 6 to 10 a.m. Sept. 7. Cash, jackets, a briefcase and bags were stolen from a vehicle in a garage, and the vehicle was damaged. 11TH ST., 3200 block, 3:30 to 7 a.m. Sept. 4. A restaurant was entered through a rear window. Property was damaged. Nothing was reported missing. 12TH ST., 1900 block, 5:45 to 5:59 p.m. Sept. 3. Property was stolen from a residence. 13TH ST., 3200 block, 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 7. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a lock and destroying a door. The home was ransacked. 13TH ST., 4000 block, 2:35 p.m. Sept. 2. Two men knocked on a front door of a residence and forced their way inside. One man pushed a resident to the floor. The other intruder put a knife to another resident’s neck and dragged the person into a bathroom by the hair and locked the door. The intruders then fled without property. One injured resident was taken to a hospital. 16TH ST., 7400 block, 2:30 p.m. Sept. 3 to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 5. A bicycle was stolen from a detached garage at a residence. A laptop computer, a wallet and a credit card were taken from the bedroom of a residence, entered through a unlocked rear door while a resident was in the bathroom. Two male youths were seen running through the alley with a laptop. HOWISON PL., 1200 block, 2:50 a.m. Sept. 4. A male forced his way into a residence after asking for someone who did not live there. Two female residents were shoved and slapped. A male was arrested. IRVINGTON ST., 100 block, 4:30 p.m. Sept. 5.
