ROBBERIES MINNESOTA AND QUARLES STREETS, 11:40 to 11:59 p.m. Sept. 2. A gunman and male accomplice robbed a male pedestrian of property, then fled on bicycles. PERRY ST., 1000 block, 9:05 p.m. Sept. 2. A male assaulted and robbed a female pedestrian of property. SECOND ST., 1100 block, 7 to 7:05 a.m. Sept. 6. SEXUAL ASSAULTS KENNEDY ST., 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 20. A man sexually assaulted a female in a residence. 23RD ST., 4 to 4:15 a.m. Sept. 4. A man sexually assaulted a female. ROBBERIES ADAMS MILL RD., 1800 block, 11:20 to 11:22 p.m. Sept. 5. A female was sitting at an outdoor cafe when two males approached and one reached over a fence and grabbed her purse from a table. ADAMS MILL RD., 2700 block, 12:05 a.m. Sept. 3. One of three males demanded cash from a male bicyclist and punched him in the face. He was able to regain his balance and escape. Nothing was reported taken. BROWN ST., 3400 block, 10:40 to 10:42 p.m. Sept. 4. A man approached a pedestrian from behind, showed a handgun and demanded a purse. An accomplice of the robber then grabbed the purse. CALVERT ST., 1900 block, 2:15 to 2:20 a.m. Sept. 5. One of five male youths punched a male pedestrian, knocking him to the ground. Another youth robbed him of his property. All of the youths fled on foot. COLORADO AVE., 5600 block, 10:30 a.m. Sept. 3. A female left a bus and walked to her apartment building. Two male youths approached her while she was looking in her purse for keys. One snatched the purse, and they fled.
COLUMBIA RD., 1000 block, 9 to 9:10 p.m. Sept. 6. One of two males went through a pedestrian’s pockets and robbed him of property at gunpoint. COLUMBIA RD., 1700 block, 2:20 to 2:25 a.m. Sept. 4. Two men told a male motorist that they were police officers and demanded to see his license and registration. One of them struck the motorist in the face with a gun, then fled with property. The motorist was treated for injuries at a hospital.
DUPONT CIR., 1-99 block, 3 a.m. Sept.
4. A wallet and a cellphone were taken from a male asleep on a park bench. A man awoke him and offered to help him get back his property if he gave him cash. The male agreed, and they went to a bank, where the man placed a sharp object to the male’s side and demanded $200. The male complied. The robber then told him to go to another ATM nearby. They went to that ATM, and the male withdrew $200 again and gave it to the robber, who then fled. GEORGIA AVE., 4800 block, 9:15 to 9:23 p.m. Sept. 7. Two people wearing masks robbed a convenience store of cash at gunpoint. HARVARD ST., 600 block, 12:15 a.m. Sept. 7. Two males demanded cash from a male after he left a store. He refused and began running. One of males caught up with him and stabbed him in the back. They fled. Nothing was reported taken. He was treated for injuries at a hospital. IRVING ST., 1300 block, 11:30 to 11:35 p.m. Sept. 2. A male demanded property from a pedestrian. When the man said that he had none, the male punched him in the face and fled. Nothing was reported taken. KENYON ST., 1000 block, 9:10 p.m. Sept. 6. Two men approached male pedestrian, and one showed a weapon and demanded property. The pedestrian raised his hands, and property was taken from him. KENYON ST., 1300 block, 9:35 to 9:36 p.m. Sept. 7. Two people approached a male pedestrian from behind and took a book bag at gunpoint. MASSACHUSETTS AVE., 2000 block, 7:20 p.m. A man grabbed a cellphone from a pedestrian’s hand and walked away. He then threw the cellphone on the ground and continued walking toward Dupont Circle. A 35-year-old man was arrested. MERIDIAN PL., 1400 block, 11:40 to 11:50 p.m. Sept. 4. A man grabbed a male pedestrian by the neck and demanded cash. The pedestrian punched the man in the face several times, knocking him to the ground. The pedestrian noticed two more men, one with a knife. When the men saw what was happening, they fled. A 30-year-old male suspect was treated at a nearby hospital. OST., 1000 block, 5:10 p.m. Sept. 4. A male who had just parked his vehicle heard footsteps behind him. When he turned to see who it was, a male punched him in the face causing him to fall. When the assailant patted his pockets, the male shouted for help. A witness chased and caught a suspect. A 17-year-old male was arrested. OAK ST., 1400 block, 7:30 to 7:33 p.m. Sept. 4. Five men surrounded a male pedestrian in an alley and punched him. They robbed him of property from his pockets and fled. OBSERVATORY CIR., 1-99 block, 3:10 a.m. Sept. 15. A male bicyclist grabbed a pocketbook from a person
and fled. PST., 1600 block, 5:30 to 5:35 p.m. Sept. 4. A woman in a park walked over to a man sitting on a bench, said that she was a police officer and demanded his cellphone. When he refused, she threatened to have him arrested. He gave her the phone. She then demanded cash. He told her that he had none and fled into an alley. SUNDERLAND PL., 1900 block, 12:55 to 1:10 a.m. Sept. 3. A man grabbed a female’s purse as she sat on a staircase. When he ran, she chased him. He stopped, and the female told him that she only wanted the purse returned to her. The man took cash, threw the purse on the ground and fled. The female retrieved the purse and wallet. UST., 1000 block, 9:47 to 9:49 p.m. Sept. 6. Three males approached a male. The male was punched and robbed of a cellphone. WST.,100 block, 1 to 1:05 p.m. Sept. 4. A man grabbed and held a male pedestrian by his shirt as another man robbed him of a backpack. WALLACH PL., 1300 block, 9:42 to 9:44 p.m. Sept. 7. Three people punched a male pedestrian and robbed him of a wallet. The male was treated for a swollen nose at a nearby hospital. WILLARD ST., 1700 block, 4:45 a.m. Sept. 5. A male engaged a pedestrian in conversation about directions, then punched him in the face. Another male tried to search the pedestrian’s pockets. The robbers fled. Nothing was reported taken. EIGHTH ST., 4900 block, 10 a.m. Sept. 6. A person hit a male pedestrian with a handgun and took property from his pockets. EIGHTH ST., 5100 block, 7:45 p.m. Sept. 2. A male youth demanded a bicyclist’s bike, struck him in the face and gave it to another male youth. The robbers left, and the bike was later recovered. EIGHTH ST., 5300 block, 1:22 a.m. Sept. 7. A male approached a vehicle with the engine running and asked the driver whether he was feeling okay. Another male then punched the driver in the face and pulled him from the vehicle. Both males continued punching him in the face and robbed him of property. 11TH ST., 500 block, 3:19 p.m. Sept. 4. A man grabbed a woman’s iPhone from a table in a specialty store and fled with another male. 13TH ST., 5900 block, 1:40 to 1:45 a.m. Sept. 3. Eight males demanded cash from a male pedestrian. They assaulted him and left without obtaining anything. 15TH ST., 2300 block, 11:50 p.m. Sept. 6 to 12:05 a.m. Sept. 7. A male struck a female in the face and robbed her of a purse. The purse,
