the right side of the island. One can explore this magnificent island fromany direction. Our route is now described in detail clock-
wise,beginningatPortHastings,andtravelling to the left on Rte #19.
Ceilidh Trail– Ceilidh (pronounced Kay-lee) is Gaelic for party or gathering, and this trail begins at Port Hastings; joining the Cabot Trail nearMargaree Harbour,on thewestern coast.
CeilidhTrail on #19: Port Hastings? was once known as “Plaster Cove”for the extensivemining of gypsum.Today it is a full-service town and home to the Gut of CansoMuseum and Archives,where you will find displays on the construction of the world’s deepestman-made causeway.
