GAMES OF LIFE >>>>>> MATT BENSON, BRAND MANAGER, UBISOFT

What was the first game you remember playing and enjoying? A game called 3D Deathchaseon the ZX Spectrum, years and years ago. I remember it being really addictive, mainly because it was so challenging. I never did manage to complete it…

What games are you currently enjoying the most? I’ve been having a blast on Battlefield Bad Company 2’smultiplayer, in between sessions on Splinter Cell: Convictionco- op DLC and Split-Second. There’s a lot of

great product out there to get through at the moment. I’ve not even managed to get around to Red Dead Redemption.

Favourite game of all time? This is a tough one as I’ve many different gaming systems and loads of favourites. The one that left the most impact on me is an obscure game called Hired Gunsfor the Amiga back in ’93, made by DMA Design and Psygnosis. It was an RPG/FPS-style game. It’s the first game I ever played in co-op with my brother and two of our mates in a four-player split-screen. It was awesome fun and really left a lasting impression on me.

QUOTEOF THE WEEK

“I think that what [Microsoft] have focused on for Kinect is very interesting and I hope they will attract an even wider audience. I would say it is no different from just the Wii”

Square Enix boss Yoichi Wada is apparently yet to be impressed by Microsoft’s motion controller

ACTIVISION’S HERSE POWER Look at the wheels on that. This sleek machine was spotted last month ahead of Activision Blizzard’s charity drive scheduled on July 22nd. Staff from the publisher will be driving the beast from their UK office to Venice as part of the Crumball Rally, raising money for Transverse Myelitis. SON OF A... Please give a warm welcome to Nathan Alexander French, firstborn of MCVeditor Michael and Intent Media subbing queen Helen. The 7lb 4oz youngster has already surpassed his father’s (rather impressive) achievements in such notable fields as missing deadlines, unnecessary dribbling and throwing a wobbly whenever he doesn’t get his way.
